Wendy was born in Pontypridd, South Wales to Mancunian parents, and spent her teens in Manchester. She trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
This summer, Wendy plays the Landlady in SKIP Theatre's site specific production of The Mermaid's Curse. In 2008 Wendy played the swashbuckling eldest daughter, Morgana Lear in the world premiere of Jack Lear for the Stephen Joseph Theatre directed by Barrie Rutter of Northern Broadsides. Wendy was a founder member of the theatre company Show Don't Tell and played roles in Loveplay, Relative Values and Dangerous Corner. During her time with the company, she was particularly delighted to be asked by the play's author, Moira Buffini to play Barbara in her short play, The Games Room as part of the Miniaturist season at the old Southwark Playhouse.
On the small screen Wendy played Baines the masculine chauffeur in the BBC's recent 1920s adaptation of The Turn of the Screw, where she skilfully got to drive a 100 year old Ford Model T car! Other period drama includes Martha, the Dashwood's maid in Sense and Sensibility also for the BBC. This year she also played Rachel Allen, a suicidal psychiatric patient about to jump off a bridge in a short film for the Police Bravery Awards. On the big screen, Wendy played the surly Guard Miller in Provoked: A True Story alongside Miranda Richardson and Aishwarya Rai and Anna in the Bollywood film 1-800-Love due to be released in October this year.
Wendy had an exciting start to 2009, jetting off to Peru to film the drama documentary series Locked Up Abroad, in which she plays Julie Goldstein and finished off the year in Malta and Gozo playing Pam in A Day in the Death of Joe Egg with In Company Theatre.
Other work includes recordings for Big Finish playing Mme De Chevreaux in Dr Who and The Church and The Crown, and Nellie in Sarah Jane Smith - The Tao Connection.
Wendy is a skilled role-player having worked for The Harry Partnership, The Role Play Company, and with the NHS, London Stock Exchange and The Serious Fraud Office.
