Copestake
James was born and raised in Grimsby. He studied Performance for Live and Recorded Media at Teesside University, and then went on to study at The Identity School of Acting.
On the Manchester fringe he played The Woodcutter in Lorcas’s Blood Wedding, Alan Bennett in The Lady in the Van, and Ben in original work Benefits.
On screen he played a disturbed young man opposite Ben Whishaw in the hit BBC 2 Drama London Spy, directed by Jakob Verbruggen. Appeared on BBC’s Casualty as Taylor Lewis, & a cameo in feature film The Pay Day on Amazon Prime.
He was an opportunistic thug in independent film The Cloaking, a lovelorn protagonist in About A Girl, and a vegan vampire in comedy-horror Lockerbilly. He also writes scripts and is currently in post-Production for his Directorial debut.
