Nuala Walsh

 

Born and bred in County Wicklow, Ireland, Nuala trained at Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama in London.

 

Although based in London, she has returned to Ireland many times to tour with Galloglass Theatre Company in plays including The Big Sea by Colin Teevan, Broken Ground (company devised play) and The Good Woman of Setzuan. Other theatre credits include the one-woman show Turning On, written especially for Nuala by Clive King and a UK national tour of Middle Ground Theatre Company's The Verdict. Her favourite theatre work to date is touring the Highlands and islands of Scotland with Mull Theatre Company as Margrethe Bohr in Copenhagen and Mary Johnny Rafferty in A Skull in Connemara.

 

Film work includes the role of Mrs Meena McGlynn in the Hartley Merrill award-winning feature Conspiracy of Silence. She appeared as Rose Gannon (sister to Joey Musgrove) in the long running Channel 4 soap, Brookside.

 

Delighting in comedy, Nuala  featured in the cult comedy series Father Ted as Sister Mary Gondola and also played the slightly aged but non the less vampish receptionist Clarabell in the popular CBBC series Scoop.
