Want to be in control of your career?
We are a London based cooperative actors' agency that has been running for 40 years. At 1984, you act as an agent as well as an actor.

As a co-op, we give our time and energy as agents for each other once a week. Responsibilities include:
-
Submitting Actors for jobs
-
Pushing for specific roles
-
Organising Auditions
-
Liaising with Casting Directors
-
Going to Graduate Showcases and Client Performances
-
Scheduling Show Invitations
-
Editing Show Reels
-
Reviewing Self Tapes
-
Sharing good news of a job offer (our favourite part!)

We also have separate teams within the agency who manage:
-
Finance
-
Contracts
-
Social Media Management
-
Website Design
-
New Applicants
-
Training

As you can see, we have a very proactive role in our own and our fellow artists' careers. In a co-op you know who's casting what, what show is going where, which films are in production and what TV Shows have been renewed for another series. You instantly gain the support of a network of experienced actors who know the industry, know how to sell you to Casting Directors and who are there for any guidance or advice you might need for your career. You will, in turn, learn how to do the same for them.

We work together for all our members and unlike a traditional agent, we get to know each other deeply and learn the nuances in each other's personalities so we can best sell each others quirks and skills.

At the moment our books are closed to all, except members of the Global Majority.

If all of this sounds interesting and you fit our criteria above- get in touch! Email us a Show Invite or Showreel, an idea of what skills you could bring to a cooperative, why you think you would be a good fit, and your Spotlight Link & Headshot to info@1984pm.com.

If you still want to know more about how cooperative agents work we recommend this article from the CPMA.
We cannot guarantee responding to everyone due to the number of applications we receive, but we do give every application careful consideration.
