Vivian was born in China and raised in New York. She now lives in London, where she specialises in devised work and adaptations of both classical and contemporary texts.

She graduated from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama, where she collaborated on several devised pieces about queerness, adoption, and Greek mythology.  She also performed in adaptations such as The Penumbra Podcast Live (Playwrights Horizons Theater Downtown), as well as new short films like Kailey Anderson’s Theatre 904, for which she was nominated Best Supporting Actress in the Lee Strasberg Institute’s 6th Annual Film Festival.

Since graduating from Tisch, Vivian has made a home in cultivating nuanced, modern takes on classical characters, including masc lesbian Horatio in Hamlet, TikTok e-girl Marsha in The Seagull (Foul Fiend Theatre Troupe), and sapphic lifestyle blogger Basil Hallward (in her self-written and self-produced web series @basilhallwardish).

She also loves diving into new characters, playing fiery ballerina Shalvah in Theater for the New City’s Doula Monster and Amy in Raisara Vatana’s queer basketball-themed short The Fumble.

When not acting, Vivian remotely manages social media for NYC-based sapphic indie theatre company Sapphest and Brooklyn-based classics-in-the-park Foul Fiend Theatre Troupe. She loves editing behind-the-scenes video montages for these.
