Tara McMillan
Tara Mcmillan was born in Istanbul of Turkish/Jamaican parents. She has a Diploma in Music, specialising in the Double Bass, from The Anatolian High School of Fine Arts, followed in 2020 by a Degree in Theatre studies at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory.
She made her professional stage debut as one of five choir members in an adaptation of Anne Carson’s translation of Sophocles’ Antigone. Her professional screen debut was in the leading role of a Fairy in thirty episodes of a children’s show called Sihirli Annem (My Magical Mom) on the Turkish online media platform Exxen.
In 2022 she moved to London for a Masters’ in acting at East 15.
At the Edinburgh Fringe she was another mythical creature in devised show The Thin Place with Fixed House Theatre and appeared as a guest performer in the dance show Mass Effect for Himherandit Productions. She has also performed in numerous Fringe theatre plays.
Tara regularly practices Yoga and is longing to be able to play the double bass again.
