Hadrian Conyngham
Hadrian is an Australian-born transmasculine actor, musician, and writer. An alumnus of Allen & Payne's GAP Workshops for emerging trans actors, and Fruit Box Theatre's RIPE Development Programme, he came to acting after dropping out of his postgraduate degree in philosophy to whirl across the world in 2023.
He wrote and performed Understudy No. 5, nominated for two Fringe Theatre Awards (Best Solo Performance in a Play and Best Writing - New Play), and was an dynamic Caliban in The Tempest aboard the Golden Hinde: clambering up banisters, scuttling along gun decks.
With a diploma in classical piano, he is also proficient in guitar, violin, and harmonica. Passionate about both classical theatre and new queer works, his credits include The Lesbians of Forest Gate (Newham Heritage Month); Unfinished Finished (Poetry Plays Festival/ Théâtre Volière); Gorboduc and The Castle of Perseverance (Beyond Shakespeare); and Lalu (Waikin Studio).
Hadrian misses Australia's thunderstorms, where stepping outside for five seconds soaks you to the bone. He's mostly habituated to the slow, encroaching dampness of London, but still thinks fondly of the lightning.
